The horse owner: Never have I ever...

When you're a horse owner, you're just not like everyone else. And that's perfectly okay! Are you ready to play a little game? You might know it. It's called "Never have I ever" and it's primarily about celebrating all the things you wish you had never done.

How to play

  1. Find all the points on the list below that you have experienced yourself. This includes even if you wish it had never happened – because yes, we know, it's embarrassing.
  2. Then think about the embarrassing experiences you've had that are not on the list. It could be something you've done, said, or otherwise experienced in the stable, at a competition, on the back of your horse, or somewhere entirely different.
  3. Write both in the comments section of the post on Facebook, and we will update the article continuously. The goal is to paint a collective portrait of what really characterizes us as horse people.

Never have I ever...

  1. Picked up a horse dropping with my fingers.
  2. Tasted my horse’s (straw) feed or treats.
  3. Walked around an entire paddock to find a lost shoe, only to find it in front of the gate or in the stall.
  4. Peed in a stall or on the riding arena.
  5. Reused a dirty competition shirt or pants.
  6. Taken the horse out of the stable to ride, but forgotten half of the equipment.

  7. Laughed when others were getting instruction where you SHOULD NOT laugh.
  8. Talked about trivial things or sung songs to my horse.
  9. Watched my horse mate/be mated.
  10. Been hit in the neck when the horse was making itself comfortable.
  11. Cleaned my horse’s eyes or nostrils with my bare hands.
  12. Passed gas so loudly my horse got scared.
  13. Ridden my horse even though the doctor said I shouldn’t.
  14. Drunk from my horse’s water.
  15. Slipped in a horse dropping in the stable, stood up, and continued as if nothing happened.

... And then it's up to you what more should be on the list.
