1. Fresh air every day

Yes, perhaps it is sometimes very cold, muddy and windy, and you are struggling when getting the horses inside from the field. BUT you are still outside every day, and nothing beats this feeling after a long day at the office.

2. Friendships for life

When working with horses you meet a ton of different people. In this world you can become friends with people you would never have met if it was not for your horse. There is always someone to ask for help and share your passion with.

3. Friendships on a higher level

A true friend is not someone doing pedicure with you or bringing you on exclusive holidays to the Canary Islands. A true friend is someone standing in the stable together with you at 6 am a winter morning helping you getting ready for a competition, change of blanket or give your horse antibiotic because you cannot be there. The person who quickly makes the trailer ready for transportation of your ill horse. The one who sits with you in the waiting area at the veterinarian hospital. The one who cheers you on at competitions, and the one who helps calming you down before you ride in front of the judges. Stable friends are the best friends you will ever find.

4. Your other home

No matter if you are from Florida, Poland, Ireland etc. – you can always walk into a stable to the familiar smell of hey, poo and insect spray – and feel at home right away. If you are travelling for a longer period, we advise you to find a stable – it helps if you are homesick.

5. You learn what responsibility is all about

If someone knows what it means to feel responsibility it must be equestrians. We know it is not an option just to stay away, because you do not feel like it today. We have the responsibility of another living creature, so no matter if there is a snowstorm or you have a stomach flu – the horse must be fed.

6. Daily activity is healthy for body and mind

It is no secret that daily activity is good exercise for both body and mind. In the stable you only have to focus on the horse, and when you ride your muzzles are strengthened. You can almost always be certain of a good night sleep after a day in the stable.

7. You are humble - things can always get better

This can somehow be categorized both positive and negative. There is always room for improvement. We will never know everything. When you find the answer to one problem five new ones come into mind.

8. It all make sense

You might have had a really bad day at the office. Your boss has been rough on you, and you have not achieved the work tasks you had planned. But you are going to the stable, and when you arrive you are greeted by friends and your beloved horse. If this does not make everything worth it, we do not know what will.

9. You will accomplish a lot of different skills

As a horse owner you need to make several decisions on behalf of your horse. You both need to be the dietitian to your horse,, its personal trainer, cut the mane and once in a while its nurse.

10. Great communication skills

Equestrians almost have their own language which most people outside this world will never understand. We are also excellent in body language. It is quite cool that we can control such a huge animal only by the use of our tiny body.

11. We know the value of money

The equestrian sport is expensive. This means that the soon you decide to enter this world you learn where to save money. You cannot just go shopping or to the café daily. You need the money for the farrier next month and feed for the horse.

12. We are masters of unconditional love

You know it. You just spend hours washing and polishing your horse so it is perfect for the summer entering soonish. The first thing it does is rolling in the nearest mud on the field. But you do not get angry. You live of cheap pasta and ketchup so that your precious horse can have the newest gaiters. And it is all okay – because you love your horse more than anything.
