The Olympic athlete and Danish dressage rider Carina Cassøe Krüth has reached new pinnacles of performance in recent months.
Together with the incredibly graceful mare, Heilines Danciera, the pair have pushed themselves into fifth place in the FEI's world dressage rankings.
She was born in Slagelse, but now the 39-year-old woman has settled in Hobro with her husband, Casper Cassøe Krüth, their two dogs, and nearly 30 horses on the couple's newly renovated dream farm. Carina trained as a rider in 2011 under Per Skjærbæk, achieving the highest average score ever in the training programme. Carina and her husband own and run the CK Dressage sales stable from their newly renovated farm.
Besides many impressive performances, Carina began topping Danish dressage in 2018 with gold at the Nordic Championship, both team and individual. In 2020, she achieved silver at the DM, where they achieved the magic 80% in 5* Grand Prix Special. 2021 was the year when Carina took fifth place in the FEI's world rankings and also the year when Carina and Danciera participated in the Olympics in Tokyo, achieving an individual seventh place and a commendable fourth place as a team.
Recently, Carina and Danciera have stunned Danish equestrian enthusiasts, where the harmonious pair took first places in both the Grand Prix (78.674%) and Grand Prix Special (76.107%) in Compiègne, France. Here, Denmark also dominated the finals as a team, winning the FEI Nations Cup with great help from Carina and Danciera's first places.

Achieving personal bests is something that has repeated itself several times for the pair in recent months. Prior to the excellent results at CDIO Compiegne 5* Grand Prix, there were impressive performances in Gothenburg, Sweden, in February. Here, the judges unanimously agreed on a top score in the Grand Prix Kur of 86.855%, placing them far ahead of Germany's Isabell Werth and DSP Qantaz, who took second place. This first place followed from the first place the day before, where they scored 78.217% in the Grand Prix, closely followed by team-mate Nanna Skodborg Merrald and Blue Hors Zack with 76.674%.
The stunning black mare was born in 2011 at Stald Heiline by Line Jensen and Heine Bonde Mikkelsen and matches Carina Cassøe Krüth's riding skills to absolute perfection. The owners of Danciera are Stutteri Four Oaks by Ingrid and Poul Thøgersen, and Carina has just received a young horse back from training, sired by the renowned Heilines Danciera. She mentions that she can already see similarities to the elegant mare, and it will be exciting to see what the future can bring.
At the beginning of the year, Carina announced that both the four-year-old breeding stallion Svalegårds Hot Driver by Hesselhøj Donkey Boy/Blue Hors Hotline (breeders Else Marie and Jens Chr. Krabbe) and the seven-year-old mare Tophøjs Diadora by Hesselhøj Donkey Boy/Blue Hors Don Romantic (breeders Anette Nilausen and Niels-Jørgen Johansen) had moved into the stable. It will be interesting to follow their training and their performances.
The future plans for this exceptional pair are not yet set, but with their impressive team performances at the World Championships in 2022, Denmark has qualified for the dressage event at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The team consists of Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour, Nanna Merrald, Daniel Bachmann Andersen, and Carina Cassøe Krüth. Additionally, two of Denmark's dressage queens, Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour and Carina Cassøe Krüth, have been granted extraordinary individual athlete support from DIF and Team Denmark in the form of a steady monthly amount. This could provide significant assistance in the lead up to the Paris Olympics.

"It's a huge recognition of me as an athlete to receive this grant, and thus a great honour. The support will make a big difference to my daily life, because I can now focus on and invest even more in my education and training without having to worry about finances," Carina tells the Danish Equestrian Federation.
With Carina and Danciera's recent successes, one could hope for an impressive performance from them, and who knows - perhaps the pair will move even higher up in the world rankings?
