Bates Saddles is proud to continue its support of equestrian excellence in Great Britain, through an exclusive new partnership with British Equestrian. The collaboration positions Bates Saddles as the Official Saddle Partner to British Equestrian, the national governing body for horse sports in the United Kingdom. This is the saddlery brand’s second partnership with a peak equestrian body in the United Kingdom, following the recognition of Bates Saddles as an official partner of British Eventing last year.
Bates Saddles Managing Director, Ron Bates, explains in a press release that his team looks forward to providing informative and educational content on saddle developments, design, and fitting, through British Equestrian’s reach of more than three million riders.
“The guiding principle behind each of our saddlery innovations, is to put horses first,” Ron says.
“As a National Governing Body, British Equestrian provides exemplary leadership to equestrians throughout the country, bringing awareness to horse welfare and wellbeing. We are extremely proud to contribute to this undertaking and look forward to the opportunities this partnership will bring.”

Since 1934, Bates Saddles have been driven by a philosophy of innovation focused on saddle performance and comfort for both horse and rider. When it comes to saddle fit and your horse’s comfort, Bates Saddles are the optimum choice. Their research and development team have pioneered modern saddle adjustability and are responsible for many of the saddle features that address the comfort of horses today.
British Equestrian Chief Executive, Jim Eyre, tells in the same press release that the organisation is delighted to be welcoming Bates Saddles as their official saddle partner.

“The team at Bates Saddles have a strong desire to ensure all riders, no matter what saddle brand they ride in, have informative material readily available to them when it comes to saddle fitting to ensure every horse can be ridden as comfortably as possible. This is naturally a core objective for ourselves and we look forward to working alongside them in this exciting new partnership," Jim adds.
British Equestrian is the National Governing Body for horse sports in the UK, affiliated to the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI), the international governing body of equestrian sports. Under the patronage of HRH, The Duchess of Cornwall, it exists to provide leadership, vision and purpose in steering the direction of equestrianism. Established in 1972, it is the largest representative body within the industry, representing the interests of some three million equestrians.
Through this new partnership with British Equestrian, Bates Saddles will share key findings from their research and development on British Equestrian’s social media channels and within the organisation’s newsletter.
As well as providing educational content, Bates Saddles has committed to offering competition prizes to further support British Equestrian’s members and supporters.
